Ugh. I've been so busy lately. It's not all bad, it's just that I don't have time to do all the things I need to do, not to mention the things I
want to do. It is summer, after all.
I downloaded and started using
Rockbox, an open source firmware alternative for some mp3 players. I'm using it on my iPod. The iPod version is still in the beta/beta-type stage, but it works pretty well. The only real problem I've had is that it is that it freezes occasionally. But I've been using it all day long, so I doubt it would be a problem with "normal" use. Also, Rockbox (for iPod, at least) can be installed without removing the original firmware or data (as long as the iPod is formatted for Windows), and one can even boot into the original firmware.
Tomorrow Rick goes off to college. We rented a minivan, and are going to try to fit all his college stuff in it and drive it up. If it doesn't all fit, we'll take our car, too. We're going to drive up tomorrow morning/afternoon, get all of Rick's stuff in his dorm room, stay the night, then drive back on Sunday.
Nothing really more to say. I've been spending a lot of time at work and To-Shin Do, so there hasn't been as much time for interesting things. I still think I'm forgetting something, though.

Good luck to Rick. Every time someone says the name "Rick," I think of this one time a teacher found a hit list in a notebook at the high school, but the police didn't take it seriously because the first name on the list was "Ricky Retardo."
